Turning over a new leaf

I've been a sourpuss lately and I've decided it needs to stop. I have so many things to be thankful for. A beautiful family, Jeff and I both have great jobs, a nice house, etc. No reason for me to be cranky.

Part of that means taking some time for me/us. Even though it will mean a little less sleep, I'm going to make an effort to get up a few times a week and exercise. We just started with a new cleaning company, which will make life so much better, since we won't have to spend our weekends cleaning our house (and believe me, that place is a PIT; 3 animals and a baby). I'm going to make an effort to make some new friends. Jeff and I need a more regular date night, which means finding a couple of backup sitters, since ours has suddenly decided to have a social life (so much for my theory of hiring the nerdier girls - maybe the prettier ones will want to sit so they can buy cute clothes for bar hopping? It's not like we stay out late. They could watch Riley then still make it down to 6th street in time for the height of the partying).

And finally, making an effort every weekend to do one family activity not in our neighborhood. There are so many things in Austin to see and do, and Riley is now at the age where she loves seeing everything and new people. So we need to get out and do that for her, if not for ourselves.

This won't all happen at once, but they are baby steps to making changes!
