So Rome wasn't built in a day. I woke up on the wrong side of a double king sized bed this morning. Oh well.
We just couldn't get our act together to get out the door on time. Oscar, as usual, wouldn't eat his food. I broke the new rules I made by not making the bottles, etc. at night so I was rushing around to get them done this morning.
Then I get to daycare, and see the people that annoy me the most. For the record, I've given up my distaste for the acid reflux mom. Our schedules don't coincide much anymore, so she hasn't given me much material. Do I notice that she overdoes the baby talk to her kid? Yep. Do I notice that her kid never smiles? Yes. Do I think that maybe the kid's blank stare is a cry for help? That she's thinking, "Dear God, I don't have reflux, but the way my mom talks to me makes me vomit"? Uh-huh. Do I also notice that apparently her mother only dresses her in Carter's sweatsuits? Absolutely. (I get having comfort clothes, but half the fun of a little girl are all the cute clothes!)
But I digress. The new targets of my distaste are a couple that every single day drop off and pick up their kid together. I soon realized that they carpooled. Ok, fair enough. But why does that mean both of you have to go inside to drop the kid off? Jeff and I would probably thumb wrestle for who had to go in and do the drop-off routine if we carpooled. Besides, they don't have some huge routine that requires 2 people. They literally throw the kid at the teacher, fill out his sheet and run. I've never even seen them say goodbye to him. I'm pretty sure the dad is mute, as I've never heard a peep out of him. EVER.
They are also the shortest couple I've ever seen. To top that off, they both drive pick-ups! I seriously saw the wife barrel roll into the truck one day because they don't have side rails. Who is that short and doesn't have side rails?!
Today was the icing on the cake. I pulled up, and there was the wife, standing outside her truck. Then up drives the dad. IN A DIFFERENT TRUCK. Umm.....ok. So let me get this straight. You aren't even car pooling today, but you both drive to the daycare and take the kid in? Wtf?
Well after that debacle, I was driving to work. I didn't have time to make a proper breakfast, so I was going to stop by Chik-fil-a. There were like 9,000 people in line because of their free breakfast entree promotion, so I kept on driving, since I was already late. I had to settle for a granola bar when I got to work. I don't consider that breakfast, so that ticked me off too.
I'm really hoping Day 2 of Operation New Leaf goes better than today. :)
