She got to wear her own jammies for the surgery and got to have her blankie with her too, so it made for a better experience. I almost cried when they took her away, but managed to hold it in somehow.
She was gone for all of about 15 minutes. The doctor came out 5 minutes after they took her, and my first thought was "oh no, what's wrong?". Turns out he was coming out to tell us how great she did; her left ear had gotten infected again, and the right one had a lot of fluid on it, but they fixed it all. The nurses came and got us a few minutes later, and when we got back there she was just waking up and screaming her head off. No more crying after a little cuddling from Mommy and some water. We came home and celebrated with breakfast tacos, she napped for 3 hours, then we headed downtown to pick up our packets for the Livestrong Challenge. You wouldn't even have known that she'd had surgery that morning! We didn't think she could be a happier baby, but we were wrong. She was running and laughing and babbling even more than usual.
