Day Care

We are in full-on baby mode right now. Since my blood pressure's been running high, my doctor has indicated I'm at a higher risk for pre-eclampsia, or at the very least, bed rest. Luckily for us (but unluckily for her) our good friend Donna had severe pre-eclampsia last year and gave birth at 30 weeks with no warning whatsoever. So since I've been given fair warning, she recommended getting ready early, in case I am on bed rest, or worst case, I have the baby way early.

So, as I mentioned in another post, last weekend we ordered the nursery furniture. This week has been visiting day cares. After getting over the sticker shock (I knew how much it would cost, but it was so hard seeing it on paper over and over again), we have one more to visit today and then we'll make a decision. Luckily, it looks like they'll have no issue getting us in for November, which was a big concern of mine.

Our dilemma is proximity to home and the day care program beyond the infant program. The one we like best is the farthest from our house, and borders on being a little overly yuppie, even for us, the supreme yuppies that live in the suburbs, buy organic food, drive SUVs and take their dog to day care. :) However, we can't deny that the program has more bells and whistles than others, and would be a good place to have Riley until she goes to kindergarten.

Decisions, decisions. After we choose a day care, I then get to schedule our hospital tour, birthing classes, breastfeeding classes (sure to be Jeff's favorite; I'm sure it won't be at ALL uncomfortable for him...HA!), etc.
