I can't believe that a year ago we were dealing with a newborn, I was trying to heal (emotionally and physically) from a difficult labor and emergency c-section, and we were sleeping in 30-45 minute increments. Crazy life and completely different from the girl we have now!
Updates for this month:
- She's walking! All over the place. She literally keeps going and moving and likes to turn in circles now that she's figured it out.
- She eats like a linebacker. I've never seen a baby eat so much. She's still a little on the small side, but she's trying her hardest to catch up!
- She says some words: baba, dada, mama, dog, duck, hi, and all done. She also knows sign language for eat and more.
- Her laugh is contagious. She thinks anything is funny that you think is funny, and she loves to laugh and chase Daddy around the kitchen island. Someday she'll catch him. :)
- She's moving up to the toddler room at school. So that means sleeping on a cot and eating at a table. We also phased out bottles, so she's 100% sippy cup focused.
- She's interested in books now. Her favorites are Doggies by Sandra Boynton and Hands, Finger Thumb. She laughs and stares intently while you're reading it. Probably because Doggies requires Mommy to bark and count, which is no doubt entertaining. And Hands Finger Thumb requires Daddy to drum on the book. And who doesn't love drumming?
She changes everyday and she's everything we ever imagined and more. Jeff and I are so blessed to have her and have each other, and of course, our awesome families that traveled to Maine to celebrate her first birthday! Below are pics of her with Mommy and Daddy, the grandparents, Grandma Julie and Uncle Johnny (clearly she wasn't so sure about his hat), and Aunt Jill, Uncle Mike and Sloane (the day after her bday when they arrived). Notice her crown - she didn't seem to mind it, and it was a gift from Grandma Julie.
