I'm catching up on an old post!

We recently went to Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana to visit my cousin Sam and her husband Ray (kind of weird to say 'husband' there, since I still think of Sam as a little girl!). They got married over Easter weekend, and Ray is in the airforce stationed at Barksdale Airforce Base.

It's about a 6 hour drive, so we got up early on Saturday morning, loaded up Jeff's truck with all kinds of furniture, etc. we'd been saving for them, and off we went! We got there around 1, unloaded the truck and got our first experience visiting a BX. I'd always heard of these, but assumed it would be more like a convenience store, not a full blown Wal-Mart! That place had everything.

Saturday night, we went to the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City, not far from base. It has restaurants, shops and a movie theater. We saw Indiana Jones (it was pretty good until some weird parts at the end), then went to dinner at Saltgrass.

Sunday morning, we got up and went to IHOP before we headed for home.

It was a great trip and it's so nice to have family close by! Can't wait until they come to visit the baby in August!
