Come On!

So the phrase 'when it rains, it pours' is so true sometimes. We have been forking over money left and right to people lately to repair cars and the house and it's getting old (don't even get me started on hospital bills). In the past few months:

• We had the trees trimmed, which should have just been a bi-yearly maintenance thing, but.....
• The tree guy noticed we had ants in our trees and said to watch to see if they got worse, because they could kill the trees. Well, sure enough, they got worse. Then he noticed termites in the trees. We spent a fortune having him poison all the lovely critters only to find.....
• We have termites in our deck! Termites that could potentially eat our house. Sweet. He killed them with the pesticide, but....
• We have to replace the deck, sooner rather than later. Considering Jeff has been harassing me to have the deck replaced for awhile, I tend to wonder if he's somehow involved in the termite scandal.
• After we brought the baby home, Jeff's truck needed new brakes. Then a new tire. Sweet.
• Also after we brought her home, the a/c units started acting funny. We had the guys out here. They fixed the problem. Until....
• Wednesday night. The breaker tripped on the upstairs a/c unit and wouldn't reset. The a/c guys came out yesterday and pronounced our 14 year old a/c unit dead. So...
• We bought a new one. Fabulous. Then while installing it today......
• The guy noticed that the copper lines coming out of the house are kinked and need totally redone Oh yeah, and the other a/c unit will probably die not too far out, but we kept the fan and motor from the old one so we can at least use it as a band aid for the time being.
• And on a totally unrelated note, our dryer is also acting up. Not drying well, so now we have someone coming out on Wednesday to fix that. It's only a 4 year old dryer, and Jeff could easily accuse me of Dryergate since I desperately want the front loading steam washer/dryer, but I swear I didn't do it. Especially considering everything else going on around here
