We got in Christmas Eve, and went to dinner at the Oak Bar at The Fairmont Copley Hotel, then off to midnight service at Trinity Church. Jill, Mike and Sloane arrived Christmas Day, so we spent the day cooking Christmas dinner and relaxing.
On Wednesday, we went to see the Boston Pops Christmas show, then off to dinner at Top of the Hub in the Prudential Center (incredible view, so-so food). Friday night, we had a great Italian dinner in the North End at Artu, followed by cannolis from Mike's Pastry.
For New Year's Eve, we went to dinner at Sel de la Terre with Jack, Julie, Joe, Jessie and their friend Kate (Jill, Mike and Sloane headed back to Orlando on the 30th). Ordinarily, the food there is really good, but for some reason the fixed menus that go along with holidays like Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve always disappoint. But, we had great company and a great spot for going outside at the last minute to watch the fireworks over Boston Harbor, so the night was a success. :)
As the final note on Christmas, below is a picture of Julie's upside down Swedish Christmas tree (I'd never heard of it either, but apparently it exists and when I googled it, it was declared "all the rage with interior decorators"....go figure).
