Home Improvement

We’ve lived in our house for a little over 2 years, and slowly but surely, we’re turning it into the house we want it to be. Our house is about 14 years old, so it needs some updating; believe it or not, some of the things that were cool in the early ‘90s are no longer cool. Go figure. :) We’ve painted every room in the house except for two, updated the kitchen, and worked on the landscaping (credit for the landscaping goes to Jeff; I hate dirt and bugs). Next up are new tile floors downstairs and new carpet upstairs. Sometime next year, we’re moving on to the bathrooms (we did a mini-renovation on our master bathroom, but let’s face it…..Jeff and I aren’t getting our own show on HGTV; we need professionals)!

This weekend, we got a new fence put up in the backyard so we can take better advantage of the great view that we have (and to keep Oscar from trying to jump the old crusty fence we used to have). Our realtor recommended a guy that does awesome work, but works at one of the slowest paces I’ve ever seen, so the project was delayed by 2 weeks, and then a 1.5 day project turned in to 2.5 days, with him finishing up Saturday night at 8pm. We’re loving the results though! Before and after pictures are below; as you can see, Oscar loves the new fence too. :)
